Hey I’m Meredith. I’m a Rhode Islander living in Austin via New York City and New Orleans. I’m a blogger and food writer for magazines like Edible Austin and Urban Farm and websites like Serious Eats.
I cure and I smoke meat. I make stuff like bacon, duck confit, sausages, and smoked beef tongue. I’m not squeamish.
I also bike in skirts and have little piles of books stacked around my house.
I do the standard cooking and gardening. Occasionally I bake. I try to take photographs. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
I’m currently on a mushroom hunting/eating kick.
I love daunting food projects and cooking from scratch. Biscuits of Today chronicles my kitchen adventures and food emotions (I have a lot of them). The name is a tribute to one of my favorite books, Tomato Blessings and Radish Teachings, by Edward Espe Brown.
