Hey I’m Meredith. I’m a Rhode Islander living in Austin by way of New York City and New Orleans.
I’ve been slacking, though. Lately I’ve been busy writing for publications like Gastronomica, BUST, Modern Farmer, Edible Austin, The Austin-American Statesman, Austin Monthly, Urban Farm and websites like Serious Eats, CultureMap Austin, and Austin Post. But I still have some pork belly curing in my fridge.
I do the standard cooking and gardening. Occasionally I bake. I try to take photographs. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
I love daunting food projects and cooking from scratch. Biscuits of Today chronicles my kitchen adventures and food emotions (I have a lot of them), and also my travels. The name is a tribute to one of my favorite books, Tomato Blessings and Radish Teachings, by Edward Espe Brown.
